Over 35,000 accidents registered in Turkey in April

According to the report of the Turkey's police reports, in April, 35,836 road accidents were registered in the country, in which 221 people were killed.

As noted, over the past month the number of victims of the accidents amounted to 15,963 people.

According to the report, the biggest number of road incidents occurred as a result of side collisions (4992 cases). In addition, 30 cases of chain accidents have been reported.

"The reason for 143 accidents that occurred during the specified period, was overspeeding", the report says.

281 accidents happened because of alcoholic intoxication.

In April 2018, drivers in Turkey were issued fines in the amount of 141 million Turkish liras.

The official exchange rate for May 17 is 4.4662 TL/USD.
